Guarantees attendance: Cameron Diaz's character is forced back to teaching after being dumped by her rich boyfriend

After pretty much exhausting the potential of college boys and stag parties, it was probably inevitable that modern Hollywood's fondness for comic crudity would eventually find a female focus.

It may not have struck you as a particularly gaping void in the cinematic canon, but with the bawdy Bridesmaids among the most anticipated releases of the summer and Cameron Diaz here going for gross with enthusiasm, rest assured that efforts are well under way to fill it.

Elizabeth Halsey (Diaz) is a teacher ill-suited not just to her profession but to children in general.

A dope-smoking drunk who parks her class in front of DVDs while indulging in recuperative snoozing, she is self-obsessed to the point of psychosis, but has a tongue so silvery she can talk her way out of infinite troubles.
Even her gift of the gab, however, is powerless to prevent the humiliation that begins her journey to redemption of sorts.

Dumped by a fiance who has clocked her affections lay entirely with his bank balance, she is forced back into the classroom she had just quit to begin her anticipated life of leisure.

Elizabeth does not exactly hate the children in her charge: she would have to notice them first in order to do that.

Although its not Something About Mary, any movie with Cameron Diaz has a sexy alure to it making it worth watching. Part funny, part sexy, Cameron will win your heart too.
